Learning Disabilities

What We Do
We provide person-centred support for people with learning disabilities, recognising that every person has their own strengths, abilities, needs and aspirations.
We take time to understand what matters to each person and how they want to live their life. Support is tailored around their needs and preferences, helping people build confidence, develop everyday skills and have greater independence and control.
Our focus is on what each person can do and creating opportunities for them to build relationships, develop skills and enjoy a meaningful and fulfilling life.
How We Support People
Good communication is central to person-centred support. We take time to understand how each person communicates and make information as accessible as possible. Depending on the person, this may include Makaton, visual communication, pictures, symbols, PECS or other communication tools and technology.
We support people to make choices, develop everyday living skills, build and maintain relationships and take an active part in their community.
Working alongside the person, their family and relevant professionals, we adapt our approach around their needs, preferences and goals – promoting dignity, wellbeing, inclusion and the greatest possible level of independence.
